20+ Ideas & Projects for a Rainy Garden

Make your Garden Beautiful, Rain or Shine

Here in Britain our summers are hit or miss. They may be stunning with warmth and sunshine or we are able to have weeks of constant rain. On the plus side, it’s green here all the time, on the down side, there’s less to enjoy about the garden when it’s soggy.

The ideas here are for putting that sparkle back in your rainy garden. They include everything from clever rain chains to water spout tips to how to get rain water. Even though your summers are warm, bookmark a few of these ideas for when the drizzle returns.

This DIY Sea Glass Stepping Stone looks pretty in rain or shine

This Wine Bottle Rain Chain was on Etsy but you may DIY it using these instructions on the best way to cut wine bottles. Use the tops of the bottles for the rain chain and the bottoms to create candles.
If you don’t know just what a rain chain is, it’s simply a creative replacement for a water spout. Rain water from the roof funnels down it rather than a metal pipe. Rain chains direct the water while being truly a beautiful and sometimes musical feature.

Cake Soiree Stampin Up Birthday Card

Sandi MacIver – Stampin With Sandi – Hi stamping friends, my share today is A Cake Soiree Stampin Up Birthday Card:

Today’s card design was inspired by the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge with this week

The Cake Soiree Suite of products is on Pages 12 and 13 of the Stampin’Up! Occasions Catalogue with increased samples on the last page.
What I love about Stampin Up Suites? Everything coordinates!…making card designing so simple.

I began by embossing the background little bit of Whisper White with the Basket Weave Embossing Folder. Then I placed a 4 x 4 little bit of the designer paper over it, cutting both layers on an angle at the same time.
Attach both of these pieces to a Thick Whisper White card

I used the Sweet Cake Framelits set to die slice the beautiful Filigree tag in the background and the Old Olive Leaves.  The flowers are pre-printed and from the coordinating Sweet Soiree Embellishment Kit.

I added a little piece of the Old Olive 1/8″ Sheer Ribbon before using Dimensionals to add the tag to my card.

Finally, I stamped the sentiment in black ink on a scrap of Whisper White and trimmed it before attaching it to the card.

This card layout is ideal for using up small items of Designer Paper and the Sweet Soiree Specialty Designer Paper has some lovely choices.

Card Base: Thick Whisper White 4-1/4 x 11, score and fold at 5-1/2
Card Front: Whisper White 4 x 5-1/4 and designer paper 4 x 4
Tag: Whisper White 2-1/2 x 3
Thanks so much for stopping to see with me today.

Wishing you Happy Stamping.

This vintage exit sign is one of my new favorite items of quirk in my home.  In the event that you missed my post about any of it, you could not understand that this is not at all something I available at an antique shop–it’s actually faux vintage.  I really made it out of an old drawer front. Those lonely drawers with out a dresser that you spot at curbside trash piles and garage sales?  Don’t pass them by!  Drawers are now super easy to repurpose and there is a lot that you can do with all or section of a drawer.  Drawer fronts routinely have some form of beveled or raised edge, which adds far more character to a task when compared to a regular board.  And drawer boxes are exactly that–a ready made box!  Take a look at a few of the neat ways you are able to transform old drawers with your 5 Ways to Repurpose a Drawer.

1.  Wall Organizer

Lined drawers with cork and pretty fabric, then turned them topsy-turvy on the wall.  The effect?  Bulletin boards with display space, shadow-box style!

2. Ottoman

Here’s a fun accept what you are able to do with a kitchen . This rustic drawer got legs and pretty upholstery to become an ottoman!

3.  Planter

That is certainly one of the best drawer transformations. Refinished this old drawer with cup handles and wear it a small table to generate the perfect spot for houseplants.

4.  Bedroom Storage

Shares another way that drawers may become furniture with the addition of legs.  I love the pretty mint paper and gold chevron lining with this end-of-bed storage unit.

5.  Rolling Storage

Drawers were intended for storage, so it’s a simple fit to make the most of their storage capabilities once you repurpose them.  I just like the convenience of wheels on these toy bins created from drawers.

14 Creative Ways To Upcycle Ladders

Most of us have a vintage ladder sitting at home that people don’t use anymore as it looks like too dangerous or too old to even think to make use of it. Why don’t you reuse this old ladder into something nice for the interior design such as shelves or kitchen utensil hanger? You are able to paint it to give a specific colored touch matching your home style or you can leave it raw if your prefer an even more rustic & vintage decoration. Listed here are 14 suggestions to repurpose a vintage ladder within your house for the inspiration! You’ll watch ladders differently now 🙂

Chinoiserie Easter Eggs are stunningly beautiful! And very easy to create! They are upscale and different and will add that WOW factor to any spring decor. Even though you are not crafty you may make this!!!! Let’s make chinoiserie Easter eggs…

Classic blue and white, who doesn’t love that color combination? And adding that classic chinoiserie Oriental design makes these Easter eggs outrageous gorgeous!

They are upscale and chic eggs! I made a lot of them to make use of this Easter.

Chinoiserie eggs are so simple to make. The majority of the time spent while making them was looking forward to the Mod Podge to dry. So I’d Mod Podge only a little and then begin my day and Mod Podge only a little and begin my day…

Below are a few creative ways to show them..

  • in a basket with crinkle paper
  • in a small nest
  • at each place setting on an Easter table
  • perched on a candlestick
  • nestled in a number of moss

Select the napkins below to see more options…

Here’s how to blow out the content of an egg leaving the shell intact…

  • Make a small hole (a little smaller than of the eraser end of a pencil) in the utmost effective and bottom of a new egg utilising the tip of a sharp paring knife or a skewer.
  • Poke a toothpick in the holes to break the membrane therefore the egg contents may come out.
  • Put your lips over the pointy end of the egg and blow the contents in to a bowl. Save the contents of the egg for later use. Don’t blow too hard or you could break the egg. A regular medium stream of air works best.
  • Dry off the ends of the eggs.

Let’s get our napkin ready…

  • separate all the ply’s of the napkin
  • keep the very best ply that has the chinoiserie print onto it
  • discard another plys

  • rip out small single designs in the napkin and set aside
  • add a little Mod Podge to a foam brush or an old painting brush
  • paint a small part of Mod Podge onto the egg and cover that area with one of the little pieces of torn tissue pieces
  • smooth the tissue down to the egg with a bit more of Mod Podge within the tissue and then gently smooth it down together with your finger
  • focus on a small area and allow it dry on a piece of wax paper, non stick Reynolds wrap and other nonstick surface
  • focus on a small area at the same time until the chinoiserie egg is covered. I labored on several eggs at the same time

Pretty, right? Now get busy and make these beautiful chinoiserie Easter eggs for your home this year!
